Where can I purchase Silicoil?
Now manufactured in Statesville, NC by Speedball Art Products, Silicoil is sold at fine arts and craft retailers around the world.
Is the Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank made of glass?
Yes! The Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank is a 16-ounce glass jar containing a smooth aluminum coil.
What type of cleaning fluid should I use with the Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank?
We recommend using solvent for oil paints and water for acrylic paints, watercolors, and glazes.
What kind of paint will the Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank remove?
Silicoil is for all paint types. We recommend filling the tank with solvent for oil paints and water for acrylic paints, watercolors, and glazes.
Where can I purchase Silicoil Brand Brush Cleaning Fluid?
Unfortunately, Silicoil Brush Cleaning Fluid was discontinued in 2015, but Speedball’s Pink Soap has been found to be and ideal complement for the Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank.
Will my Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tank leak?
A new leak-proof cap liner was added to all Silicoil Brush Cleaning Tanks in 2022, so leaks are a thing of the past. We do recommend draining your tank if long periods of travel are anticipated.
Why can’t I get the coil out of the tank?
For your safety the aluminum coil is designed to remain in the tank. It can be turned on its side for easier cleaning.
